ICE

Simulation! There is hardly a single professional domain in which simulation does not play a major role in operator training. Simulation has been widely and wholeheartedly adopted by the training community and it is pervasive through all stages of training. However, as advanced as modern day simulators are, there is still room for improvement in particular in any environment that uses radio or telephone communications.

ICE is a framework of reusable components, used for the development of advanced speech recognition (SR) applications that utilize intelligent computer agents to simulate the real life human counterparts.

Adacel’s ICE system can be adapted to enhance any simulation environment, e.g., tank simulators, vehicle driving simulators, close air support simulators, air to air refueling simulators and forward air control simulators. High fidelity interaction with computer generated forces is now possible and provides a number of benefits including reduced manpower requirements for simulator operations and freeing up of the instructor to concentrate on the instructors primary tasks.

ICE is currently deployed in over 100 air traffic control simulators worldwide, having achieved recognition accuracy of 98% when being used by a wide range of air traffic controllers. Further applications for ICE include enhancements to Ship simulators, vehicle simulators, Computer Generated Forces or computer based training. Specific examples for enhancements to flight training are:

Air Traffic Control Simulation and Communications (ATC in a Box)
Air To Air Refueling
Close Air Support
Formation Flying
Air Intercept / Air Defense
