VAST Computers

Multiplayer Features

The multiplayer option enables a VAST scenario to be created and run in which multiple participants can interact within a common scenario. Each user will assume a different role(s). This provides a realistic way to simulate the interaction and coordination of multiple agencies and departments.

Configuration

Multiplayer scenarios require a minimum of two positions to operate.
The positions are:

Instructor Position – The Instructor position is the master position and
controls the multiplayer scenario. The Instructor position can also double
as another controller position or it can be left unattended.
Command Position – When the user starts the Command Position
they chose which role they will assume in the simulation. They will then
only receive problems associated with that role.

Positions

When running a scenario exercise each user will take on the role of one or many of these jobs. For example you can assign the “police” job to the police in the next room. Once this configuration has been set it will apply to all scenarios run from that station.

Example Multiplayer Simulator Configuration

The VAST system can be quickly setup to run a multitude of configurations to simulate various departments, agencies and stakeholders in an emergency. The following is an example configuration for an interactive scenario involving the following roles/ positions:

Instructor
Fire Fighters
Battalion Chief
EMS / EMT
Emergency Operations Center
